During the first 8 weeks of this course you will be required post in a blog of your creation (Wordpress, Blogger, etc). You should be posting once a week, and all blog posts are due Wednesdays at midnight in preparation for an in-depth class discussion on Fridays. Your blog post should be ~600 words.
The goal of your blog post is to:
- prepare for an engaging and stimulating class discussion
- go beyond the novel's basic plot
- explore the themes, allusions and implications of the text
- relate the novel to a event, person or idea relevant to today's world
- improve writing abilities and basic writing skills
- improve your fluency with technology
In addition to posting in your personal blog, you must comment on the blogs of your peers at least 5 times on 5 different weeks. Your comment should be insightful, engaging and reflect that you have thought about the ideas of the author's post. Ideally your comment should ask questions or raise thoughts that may be discussed in class during discussion. Your response comments are due Thursdays by midnight in preparation for our discussion on Fridays.
Class Blog Address will be located on the Class Blogs page.
